At Harbour Air safety is our first priority and we are committed to the safety of our employees and customers. This policy aims to continually improve the safety of our operation by identifying, eliminating or mitigating any deficiencies in conditions, policies and procedures. Every employee works together to assess their work environments, monitor safety hazards and ensure that they have the training required to maintain the highest possible safety standards. Harbour Air values the health and safety of every individual, and is committed to providing a safe and healthy workplace for all employees and customers. Harbour Air is a diverse organization with a wide variety of job environments. Each job environment has a different skill set and specific training required to ensure safety is maintained at the highest level.
Management is responsible for stimulating all Harbour Air employees to work together in the ongoing assessment, monitoring, and training required to maintain the highest possible safety standards. We will strive to maintain a responsible Health and Safety Culture by actively seeking and addressing health and safety issues before they result in incidents or accidents. Harbour Air is dedicated to providing the necessary resources, training, and education to ensure all employees consider safety first.
Safety is everyone's responsibility - all employees are responsible for performing their work in a safe manner, keep their work environment safe, and abide by the Health and Safety Policy established by the company. The safe execution of work requires a responsible attitude, job knowledge, skill, good leadership, and an organized approach to plan and integrate safety into the work sequence and workplace.
Harbour Air has a safety committee that is composed of employee and management representatives from all departments. Monthly meetings are held to discuss safety issues raised by staff and committee members. Job site inspections are assigned to members and the results, along with recommendations, are passed on to the managers responsible for each work area. Meeting minutes are posted around the workplace on notice boards. Employees are encouraged to know their departmental representative and discuss any safety concerns with them. Serious safety hazards are immediately dealt with by the Supervisor or Manager.
Harbour Air supports a Safety Management System approach to manage risk in all levels of company operations. A Safety Management System is a systematic, explicit, comprehensive, and proactive process for managing safety and risk. A Safety Management System is woven into the fabric of our organization, it is part of our culture and the way we do business. This system affects everyone in the company from Dock Operations to the CEO. Harbour Air's SMS includes the following elements:

- Investigation and Follow Up
- Analysis and Trend Monitoring
